Quality hoop with very little wobble but the free pad looks pretty bad.
Bought this on black Friday and finally got it in the ground. Digging the hole was much easier than I anticipated since the ground is so saturated right now. Definitely wouldn't want to dig it during summer drought. I was planning on renting an auger but it only took about an hour using post hole diggers and a flat shovel. I dug it to the recommended size and it took 11 80lb bags just as suggested. I did rent a concrete mixer from HD for $38 and it was money well spent. It made mixing/pouring an absolute breeze. I was able to mix and pour the concrete in under 2 hours by myself. The hardest part was getting the anchor inserted into the concrete and aligned with the court. The instructions claim you have to leave a minimum of 18" behind the pole to use the height adjustment crank but you really only need 16". The handle extends 14" from the post so if you have a fence like I do you don't need quite as much room as the instructions claim. The only complaint I have is with the pole pad. If I would have paid the retail price I would have been furious. The genius that put it on the pallet put the ratchet straps over the pad & strapped it down so hard it stretched the vinyl and permanently indented 4 places all the way across the pad. It looks terrible. Aside from that it is a nice goal with very little wobble and it looks great.
I spent a good amount of time online researching different brands and models. I almost went with a less expensive brand but I didn’t want to risk not being satisfied after putting a significant amount of time and energy into setting the concrete base. I’m glad I went with this model. Besides digging the 48” deep hole and picking up the bags of concrete, the install was unbelievably simple. Instructions were easy to follow and all hardware was labeled. Watch the video online first, only a few minutes long.
As far as the product goes, it looks great and operates very smoothly. It is pretty solid for a home court. There’s a little sway back and forth but none side to side. It is unnoticeable to the guys shooting, you just see it if you’re looking for it. I’ll bet you lose that little bit of sway with the next models up but this one is more than acceptable for what I was looking for.
The only thing I wasn’t completely satisfied with was that it took about a month to receive from the time I ordered it. I’m sure this had to do with my purchasing it during the Black Friday sale. I got a good price and a pole pad thrown in with the sale so I’m not really complaining.
