Pass and Pop Mid-Range Jump Shot (Individual): Goalrilla G Trainer Basketball Drill

Using the Goalrilla G Trainer, this basketball drill is going to work on the over head delivery pass, as well as the catch and pop mid range and three point range jump shot. The Goalrilla G Trainer will be set up directly below the basketball hoop and will face either the left or right corner wing. The player will begin at the wing and will be set up about 10 feet away (just behind the three point line) to deliver the entry pass. To perform this drill effectively, the G Trainer should be set up at a steep angle. This will permit the player to practice the mid range and three point jump shot.

Facing the Goalrilla G Trainer, the player will deliver an overhead pass using both hands. The player will then await the receipt of the pass from the G Trainer. Upon catching the pass, either in front of or behind the three point line, the player will square up and take a jump shot. Depending on how hard the pass is delivered, the player is either going to square up for a three pointer or mid range jump shot.

In the drill, players will also work on squaring up the body for the quick pass and shoot. This basketball drill allows players to square up, prepare for the open shot and immediately fire before the defender is able to reach them. If a defender does make it to the player before they have time to pop up for the shot, they will be able to take a dribble and pop up for the open mid range jumper.

This basketball drill is a superb exercise to practice a wide range of shooting distances. The Goalrilla G Trainer can be set up in a position that allows players to work on delivery, receipt and a wide range of shots – from a close 10 foot jumper to a three point jumper.

Because of its versatility, the Goalrilla G Trainer is the perfect basketball training tool for any player or coach. With just this one piece of equipment, players can perform hundreds of basketball drills that are sure to improve their game.
