Purchased the CV60 as part of the Black Friday 2018 promotion, and finally installed the goal this weekend. I have two young children (2 and 5), and they love it. Of course, the two year old has some growing to truly utilize it, but his older brother spent the entire weekend shooting hoops with dad.
To the meat and potatoes... Unbelievable sturdiness to this hoop. I used 1020 pounds of concrete for the goal, and there is ZERO movement when the ball hits the rim. Don't be in a rush when you start putting everything together. I found a mix of YouTube and the instructions provided were plenty good to get the hoop put together in a reasonable amount of time. Use 3-4 capable adults when putting the system up. It's very heavy. I backed my truck up to the post and worked off of that. Much easier than holding all of that weight on a ladder. It's fully capable of being dunked on repeatedly without the worry of breaking anything. If you're on the fence, it's worth it. Look for the promotions. I received plenty of extras during the Black Friday sale.
First of all.....everything arrived in good shape and there are no missing parts. The goal is up and is functional.
However.....When I looked online to go ahead and get the hole dug prior to my prized goal arriving, the website suggested that I dig the hole 16” diameter x 48” deep with the hole flaring out to 20” diameter hole near the bottom of the hole. My hole was perfect and it also sugggested the I get 11 qty 80lbs bags of concrete which I also did and got a few extra bags just in case (just like they directed).
When my goal arrived, I opened the side compartment of the large box (the box that has the long post) to remove my anchor system. In those directions, it NOW says a 16” diameter hole but that it should be 36” deep not 48” but it still insists on 11 qty 80lbs bags of concrete.
I filled my hole to 36” deep and flared out the bottom as directed and I then started mixing in the concrete. I used 8 bags of 80lbs concrete not 11 bags and then when I opened the instructions of the goal itself it now tells me the hole should really be 48” not 36” deep.......but now my concrete is already in and my anchor system is already in place.
So hopefully this goal will hold in it’s placed. It seems well built but I was ****** with the confusing hole data. If it weren’t for this hole data I would give it a 4 or 4.5
Overall we have been very impressed with the basketball standard. It was easy to assemble and install as long as you have enough guys. It's very sturdy and looks professional! I dug a 4 foot hole and filled it with concrete as they suggested and there is very little vibration on the backboard . Awesome! The only suggestion I might have is to include extra parts for the cheap parts like nuts, bolts, washers, and plastic washers. We ended up being one plastic washer short and I need to go buy one at a hardware store or something. But overall, we are very, very satisfied with the quality!
The Goalrilla CV60 is another fan-favorite of the Goalrilla family. The CV60 features a 60” x 38” ⅜“ tempered glass clear view backboard. The CV60 incorporates welded ultra wide-span arms to offer a clear view backboard and a welded steel board frame for the ultimate in playability. The heavy duty one piece 6” x 6”, 11 gauge steel post provides the stability you would expect in a Goalrilla.
Being a Goalrilla, the CV60 is capable of handling over 1000 lbs. of vertical torque to the rim, making it the perfect goal for heavy gameplay or an evening shooting around.
